Haoyang Zhang

Biography

I joined the MVSI Lab as a PhD student in Spring 2026. My research focuses on the application of AI in civil engineering, particularly the use of multimodal large language models and advanced computer vision algorithms for structural health monitoring (SHM). I am currently developing an integrated framework that combines large language models and computer vision for the analysis and interpretation of complex engineering drawings. I am also interested in vision-language-action (VLA) models and robotics, especially their potential applications in engineering automation.
